Are you a strong leader who thrives in outdoor, hands-on environments? Barton Supply is seeking an experienced Yard Supervisor to oversee our steel yard operations and lead a dedicated team in ensuring safety, efficiency, and product quality.
Oversee day-to-day yard operations: loading, unloading, staging, and storing steel beams.
Supervise painting, coating, and finishing processes to maintain top product standards.
Ensure OSHA compliance, company safety policies, and quality requirements are met.
Operate and monitor cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment.
Lead, train, and mentor yard personnel to foster productivity and teamwork.
Manage yard layout, organization, and inventory flow.
Partner with warehouse, shipping/receiving, and production teams for smooth operations.
Outdoor Readiness: This is an outdoor position—must be comfortable working in all weather conditions (heat, cold, snow, and rain).
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s in Business, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or related field preferred; 5+ years in yard/warehouse/construction supply supervision (steel/heavy materials a plus).
Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Technical: Experience with cranes, forklifts, rigging, and coating processes strongly preferred.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and thrive in a physically demanding environment.
